Reaching the end of a wave instead causes a warp effect, which changes the background (notably, the last background is also used in Shoot-'Em-Up 2), after which the set of backgrounds repeat, but with a different color. The Shoot-'Em-Up Radio Lady doesn't appear between waves, instead she congratulates the player for reaching certain scores.Defeating every enemy in every half of a wave awards the player a "PERFECT BONUS" of 1000 points. The player receives points for every successful shot in a pattern, going from 100, 200, 5.The life bar gradually refills after being depleted any amount. If the player is hit when the bar is empty, the game is over. The player has a life bar which is depleted with every miss.Gameplay is about the same as the non-endless version, but differences appear: Shoot-'Em-Up ( シューティング, Shooting ?) is the 2nd Endless Game in Rhythm Heaven, unlocked with 7 Medals. : The alien damages the player's spaceship. In Rhythm Heaven only, this does not cause the player to fail a Perfect Campaign.

Early!/Late! : The alien ship is struck down, but not destroyed.Perfect!/Ace! : The alien ship is destroyed completely. The Shoot-'Em-Up Radio Lady appears at the start of each wave and the end of the game to give advice. If a beat is missed, the alien is missed and damages the spaceship. The player must attack them in the same order and timing, relying on the rhythm of the music. A varying number of aliens appear on the screen one by one in groups. The game is played in first person view from the spaceship. The player controls the Blastronaut on a mission to stop aliens from invading Earth.
